Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Core Subjects Tutor to support children and young people across Poole through tailored 1:1 tuition. You’ll deliver English, Maths and Science to learners who may need flexible, individualised support.

You'll work on behalf of Local Authorities, with a flexible start in September, and the opportunity to make a direct impact on educational progress while building relationships with learners and families.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles.
• Strong knowledge of one or more core subjects: English, Maths, or Science.
• Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions.
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition in English, Maths and Science across Poole.
• Support learners to rebuild confidence, improve engagement and progress.

Make a Difference Through Personalised Tuition

We're looking for a Core Subjects Tutor to support children and young people across Poole through tailored 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll deliver personalised support in English, Maths, and Science to learners who require alternative educational provision. Many of the students we work with have faced barriers to education and benefit from a flexible, individualised approach that helps them rebuild confidence, improve engagement, and achieve academic progress.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with learners and see the direct impact of your support.

Location: Poole

Subjects: English, Maths & Science

Start Date: September

Hours: Flexible

Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour

Type: 1:1 Tuition

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within the Poole area
