Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking PGCE-qualified tutors to provide personalised 1:1 tuition for children and young people across the BCP area on behalf of Local Authorities. You’ll work with learners from primary through post-16, adapting to diverse age groups, subjects, and needs to help students re-engage with education.

Flexible hours with a September start and competitive pay. DBS Update Service or willingness to obtain one is required, and you may travel across the BCP area for placements.

Qualifications

• PGCE qualification required.
• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting (teaching, tutoring, learning support, mentoring, TA, or similar).
• Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions.
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs or additional needs is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Driver preferred; willingness to travel locally across the BCP area.

Flexible Tutoring Opportunities Across All Age Groups

We're looking for PGCE-qualified Tutors to support children and young people across the BCP area through personalised 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll provide tailored educational support to learners ranging from primary age through to post-16. Every placement is different, giving you the opportunity to work with a variety of age groups, subjects, and learning needs while helping students achieve positive outcomes.

Many of the learners we support require alternative educational provision and benefit from a tutor who can build confidence, adapt learning to individual needs, and create a positive educational experience.

Requirements

• PGCE qualification
• Minimum 6 months' experience working in an educational setting, including teaching, tutoring, learning support, mentoring, teaching assistant, or similar roles
• Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across the BCP area
