Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Core Subjects Tutor for Havant to provide personalised 1:1 tuition in English, Maths and Science for learners in Havant and surrounding Hampshire areas.

You will work on behalf of Local Authorities, supporting students with disruption to their education and helping them make progress with tailored sessions. The role offers flexible hours and the chance to make a meaningful difference in young people’s learning journeys.

Support Learners Across English, Maths & Science

We're looking for a Core Subjects Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to children and young people in Havant and the surrounding Hampshire area.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support learners who require alternative educational provision, helping them make progress in English, Maths, and Science while building confidence and developing a positive relationship with learning. Many students have experienced disruption to their education and benefit from a tailored approach that focuses on their individual needs and goals.

This is a flexible and rewarding opportunity for education professionals who are passionate about helping young people achieve their potential.

Hours: Flexible

Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour

Type: 1:1 Tuition

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles


• Strong knowledge of one or more core subjects: English, Maths, or Science


• Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions


• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable


• Strong communication and relationship-building skills


• Patient, adaptable, and supportive approach


• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one


• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within the Havant area
