Holmes Care Group in Scotland is seeking an experienced Cook to join our team, delivering nutritious, home-cooked meals for residents while upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety.

You will plan varied menus, accommodate dietary requirements, supervise kitchen staff, manage stock and ensure all health and safety documentation is current. Relevant Food Hygiene Certificates and knowledge of care regulations are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Cook in care homes or hospitality settings.
• Hold Food Hygiene Certificates and be aware of relevant regulations.
• Ability to accommodate dietary requirements and maintain high cleanliness standards.

Responsabilités

• Produce varied, tasty menus for residents while considering dietary needs.
• Provide special diets where necessary.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and ensure food safety standards is met.
• Prepare and serve meals and supervise kitchen team as needed.
• Manage stock control, replenishment, and ordering.
• Ensure documentation for Food Health and Safety is complete and up-to-date.

What does the day of a Cook look like?

Our Cooks play a key role in serving nutritious home cooked meals, whilst also maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and health and safety:

• Producing varied, tasty menus for our residents, whilst also considering individual dietary requirements
• To provide special diets where necessary
• Cleaning and washing up after meals and ensuring the overall cleanliness of the kitchen
• Preparing and serving meals
• Guiding and coaching the kitchen team
• Stock control; stock replenishing/ordering
• Managing Food Health and Safety requirements, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and up to date

To be considered for this role you will need to have experience working as a Cook, with the ability to accommodate a variety of dietary requirements. In addition, we expect you to hold all the relevant qualifications and Food Hygiene Certificates, and that you are aware of all the relevant regulations.
