Job summary

Marks & Spencer is opening a new Lichfield Distribution Centre and recruiting a Control Tower Shift Manager to lead the team from day one. This full-time role involves managing 12-hour shifts on a two-week rotating schedule and delivering a smooth order and product flow.

You will oversee Control Tower processes, monitor system performance, and drive continuous improvements while planning for succession and talent development.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of warehouse control systems and end-to-end DC processes.
• Proficient IT skills including MS Office and WMS tools.
• Proven leadership with the ability to inspire teams to high standards.
• Commercial awareness and ability to link operations to business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage Control Tower processes to improve efficiency and resolve issues with key partners.
• Monitor system performance and maximise availability across the site.
• Review processes regularly and recommend improvements and efficiencies.
• Conduct root cause analysis for nonstandard events and mitigate recurrence risks.
• Deliver performance reviews and develop succession planning within the department.
