Job summary

Mitie is looking for a Control Room Operator to join our 24/7 surveillance team in Lurgan. You will monitor alarms and CCTV across client sites, coordinate with emergency contacts, and document incidents clearly.

Full training is provided, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and quick, calm decision-making in high-pressure situations. The role requires a 5-year checkable history, PSNI/BS5979 and BS7858 clearance, and rotating shifts including nights and weekends.

Job Title: Control Room Operator

Where: Mitie | 1st Floor, Unit 9 Silverwood Business Park, 70 Silverwood Road, Lurgan, Craigavon, County Armagh, BT66 6SY

Pay Rate: £13.98 p/h

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, two alternating shift patterns (6am-6pm and 6pm-6am)

Main Duties

• Monitoring incoming alarm and CCTV signals from multiple client sites.
• Contacting emergency services, keyholders, or relevant contacts in the event of an alarm activation.
• Providing accurate communication.
• Documenting all incidents and actions taken in a clear and concise manner.
• Following standard operating procedures and guidelines to ensure effective response to all situations.
• Working effectively as part of a team to maintain 24/7 surveillance and response capabilities.
• Demonstrating strong attention to detail, quick decision-making skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Requirements for this role typically include proficiency in using alarm monitoring systems, excellent communication skills, the ability to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends, and a background check for security clearance. A background in security, customer service, or emergency response is often preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.

You must successfully pass a PSNI check as per BS5979 and BS7858 screening as per industry standard.
