Job summary

Tozer Group, a rapidly growing renewable energy business, is seeking an experienced Control Room Manager to lead the 24/7 Wakefield/West Yorkshire control room responsible for monitoring asset performance, alarms, incidents, and reporting for clients across the UK.

You will own day-to-day operations, manage teams, improve alarm handling, triage, escalation and ensure timely closure of actions, with a focus on continuous improvement and integration of new sites.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a 24/7 control room, NOC or equivalent monitoring function.
• Strong people management, rotas, performance management and team development.
• Knowledge of GB electricity systems and energy assets.
• Hands-on experience with SCADA and remote monitoring systems, including alarm management.
• Analytical mindset with ability to validate performance data and present findings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including client reporting.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the Wakefield control room, including rotas, coverage, procedures and team competence.
• Lead and manage the Control Room Monitoring and Performance & Monitoring teams.
• Set and maintain high standards for alarm handling, triage, prioritisation and escalation.
• Ensure incidents and control room actions are appropriately escalated and closed within agreed timescales.
• Maintain high-quality shift handovers and operational processes.
• Oversee daily, weekly and monthly availability and performance reporting across sites and clients.
• Investigate availability losses and underperformance, working closely with engineering and field service teams.
• Monitor CCTV and security alarms, coordinating escalation to relevant authorities, on-call teams and clients where required.
• Provide control room input into health & safety, control of work and regulatory notifications.
• Present performance information and actions during client service review meetings.
• Identify opportunities to improve control room processes, automation, reporting and operational readiness.
• Support the integration of new sites and assets into the control room portfolio.
