Job summary

SP Energy Networks, part of the Iberdrola Group, is recruiting for a Control Engineer based in Prenton (Birkenhead). The role focuses on the control and operation of the ScottishPower electrical networks in normal, outage and fault conditions, ensuring safety, system integrity and customer service.

You will manage safety, system access coordination, and regulatory compliance while supporting the transition to a future distribution network.

Qualifications

• HV distribution knowledge essential.
• Experience with distribution networks operation and fault situations.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate change within Customer Services Delivery as the distribution network transitions to Net Zero.
• Review and investigate system performance following major incidents and faults.
• Provide advice on technical matters relating to the High Voltage network.
• Approve and control all outage and network access requests to minimise risk to network and system security.
• Coordinate outage planning with internal/external parties for all network activities.
• Support proactive and reactive customer service to meet KPIs.
• Contribute to business change to improve performance and service standards.
• Complete statutory reports and paperwork for network incidents.
