Job summary

Eclipse Power Networks Ltd is seeking a skilled Control Engineer to manage energised live assets up to 132kV. The role requires strong technical and safety focus within a 24/7 environment, with some home working and on-site presence as needed.

You will contribute to safe operation, coordinate with DNOs and customers, and support incident management while maintaining vital network records and KPIs.

Qualifications

• Electrical distribution, transmission or renewables background.
• Engineering degree or equivalent (Degree/HNC/HND).
• Operational experience at AP or SAP level for HV/EHV networks.
• Strong safety culture and SSOW knowledge.
• Full UK driving license.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Ability to prioritise work to meet business needs.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledge of the UK Distribution Code and Grid Code.

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient control and operation of our operational networks.
• Follow Distribution Safety Rules and procedures.
• Review switching schedules, Permit to Work, Sanction for Test and access limitations.
• Monitor SCADA alarms and respond to abnormal conditions.
• Dispatch staff or contracted services to network faults.
• Review risk assessments and method statements for works.
• Provide on-call incident support as part of rota.
• Own the Approval to Energise process per project delivery.
• Maintain key documents such as Site Responsibility Schedules and diagrams.
• Maintain logs of network activity including abnormal conditions.
• Coordinate with upstream DNO/TO and downstream customers on RISSPs.
• Communicate with customers, providers and authorities.
• Work with HSEQ to ensure safety of direct and subcontract staff.
• Coach and mentor trainees.
• Lead during adverse weather events and resource planning.
• Monitor, maintain and report monthly KPIs for Network Control.
• SCADA commissioning for newly constructed EHV networks.
• Create and update policy and procedures for Network Control.
