Job description
Overview

Qualification delivery across a critical contract. You'll be the key technical contact, working closely with the HPC Project Manager, suppliers, and the wider multi‑disciplinary team to ensure engineering quality and compliance. Managing a team of around 10 Technical Leads, you'll coordinate day‑to‑day activities to drive progress and achieve project objectives. This is a hybrid role based at #AztecWest, with flexibility to work from home – though you’ll be expected in the office at least three days a week. This is your chance to play a central role in one of the UK’s most complex nuclear projects. You’ll oversee testing during manufacturing, manage non‑conformance reports, and ensure technical acceptance of procedures and techniques. Acting as the Project Manager’s first point of contact for engineering topics, you’ll also support replication activities for Sizewell C, ensuring robust delivery across multiple sites.

Responsibilities
  • Acting as the CEL entry point for design and qualification, managing stakeholder relationships and supplier interfaces.
  • Leading surveillance of contractor design, qualification, and manufacturing activities, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety requirements.
  • Coordinating multi‑disciplinary reviews, resolving non‑conformances, and managing design changes, open points, and risks.
  • Overseeing equipment qualification, technical acceptance of manufacturing procedures, and providing quality release inputs.
  • Supporting project and commercial managers with technical input to contract discussions, correspondence, and milestone approvals.
  • Monitoring performance, reporting progress, and driving delivery of design and qualification activities to schedule and process.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Science or Engineering (BEng, MEng, BSc, MSc) and experience in engineering or project management.
  • Proven background in the nuclear sector or another highly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of HPC/FA3 projects, EDF BTSC processes, or EPR nuclear safety requirements.
  • Experience overseeing contractor design deliverables, manufacturing procedures, or complex systems such as diesel generators.
