Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Consultant Ecologist in Newcastle to join a growing environmental consultancy delivering ecology, Biodiversity Net Gain and environmental services across the UK.

You will undertake protected species surveys, complete PEAs and ecological assessments, support Biodiversity Net Gain projects, and produce technical reports while managing projects and liaising with clients and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related subject.
• Consultancy experience with ecological surveys and assessments.
• Protected species survey experience; licences advantageous.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake protected species and habitat surveys.
• Complete PEAs, EcIAs and ecological assessments.
• Support Biodiversity Net Gain projects.
• Produce technical reports, method statements and mitigation strategies.

The company works with major clients across the built environment, construction, infrastructure and retail sectors, offering varied and interesting projects within a supportive and progressive team.

As a Consultant Ecologist, you will:

• Undertake protected species and habitat surveys
