Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Consultant Ecologist in Newcastle on a permanent basis. You will deliver ecological surveys and assessments, support Biodiversity Net Gain projects, and produce technical reports as part of a growing environmental consultancy.

You will join a collaborative ecology team, with flexible/hybrid working, training budgets, and opportunities for professional development in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related subject.
• Experience in ecological consultancy is required.
• Experience delivering ecological surveys and assessments.
• Protected species and/or habitat survey experience.
• Strong report-writing and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Full right to work in the UK.
• Living in or within a commutable distance of Newcastle.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ecological surveys and assessments across multiple projects.
• Support Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) projects and planning requirements.
• Produce technical ecological reports and contribute to planning submissions.
• Provide practical ecological advice throughout the planning and development process.

Consultant Ecologist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Ecologist to join a growing and forward-thinking environmental consultancy. The company works nationally across ecology, Biodiversity Net Gain, nutrient neutrality, trees and environmental services, supporting major clients across the construction, infrastructure, retail and development sectors.

As a Consultant Ecologist, you will join a friendly and collaborative ecology team, working on a varied portfolio of projects across the UK. The Consultant Ecologist will be responsible for delivering ecological surveys and assessments, supporting BNG projects, producing technical reports and providing practical ecological advice throughout the planning and development process.

The successful Consultant Ecologist will have the opportunity to work on interesting, high-profile projects while developing their technical expertise within a supportive and progressive consultancy.
