Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Consultant Ecologist in Oxford to deliver habitat and protected species surveys, and to prepare technical reports such as PEAs and EcIAs.

You will liaise with clients, support project delivery, and contribute to Biodiversity Net Gain assessments. The role offers hybrid working, a competitive salary, and opportunities for long-term career progression.

Immediate start preferred for candidates who can live in or relocate to Oxford or nearby with access to the office.

Qualifications

• Must hold degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Experience in ecological consultancy.
• Strong report writing and survey skills.
• Knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Full right to work in the UK.
• Residence in Oxford or surrounding area with office access.
• CIEEM membership desirable.

Oxford

As a Consultant Ecologist, you will undertake a variety of habitat and protected species surveys, prepare technical reports including PEAs and EcIAs, liaise with clients and stakeholders, support project delivery and contribute to Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.

The Consultant Ecologist will work alongside experienced specialists while managing projects from inception through to completion. This Consultant Ecologist position offers excellent long-term career progression and exposure to a wide range of ecological projects.
