Job summary

isepglobal is seeking an Ecologist to join our independent environmental consultancy in Sunderland. The role covers ecological surveys, habitat assessments and technical reporting across a UK portfolio, with opportunities to contribute to Biodiversity Net Gain and protected species work.

The successful candidate will have a relevant degree in Ecology or Environmental Science, prior ecological consultancy experience, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Degree in Ecology or Environmental Science or related field.
• Experience in ecological consultancy preferred.
• Experience conducting ecological surveys and producing technical reports.
• Knowledge of UK habitats and relevant legislation, BNG experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Ecologist to join a well-established, independent multidisciplinary environmental consultancy. The company works across ecology, planning, landscape, environmental assessment and technical services, delivering practical solutions that support biodiversity, sustainable development and nature recovery.

As an Ecologist, you will join a collaborative and supportive ecology team, contributing to a varied portfolio of projects across the UK. The Ecologist will undertake ecological surveys, habitat assessments and technical reporting, while supporting Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), protected species work and wider ecological assessments. You will also have the opportunity to work alongside other environmental disciplines.

To be considered for the Ecologist position, you should have:

• A relevant degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related subject
• Previous ecological consultancy experience
• Experience undertaking ecological surveys and producing technical reports
• Knowledge of UK habitats, protected species and relevant legislation
• BNG experience would be advantageous
• Full UK driving licence
• Full right to work in the UK
• Be living in or within a commutable distance of Sunderland
