A reputable healthcare organization in Southend seeks a full-time Consultant Older Adult Psychiatrist to lead community mental health services for older adults and dementia. Post Summary

Full time Consultant Older Adult Psychiatrist – community mental health services for older adults and dementia at Harland Centre, Southend.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team for patients over 70 with mental health problems and dementia.
  • Lead assessment and management of new and follow‑up patients in outpatient clinics (approximately 3 new and 10–12 follow‑up) and home visits.
  • Carry out MHT and MCA assessments, deliver diagnostic memory assessments and supervise nurses.
  • Attend weekly multidisciplinary team meetings and support urgent review within the duty system.
  • Cover for holidays and absences and provide clinical advice during the working day.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Full GMC registration and specialist register for Old Age or any mental health subspecialty.
  • Appropriate CCT or equivalent, or within six months of obtaining CCT on start date.
  • Experience in community dementia services and older‑adult psychiatry.
