Job summary

Morgan Hunt is seeking a motivated Construction Technician for our College in Northamptonshire. You will maintain workshop facilities, prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons, and provide essential technical support to staff and students, ensuring a safe, well-equipped learning environment.

You will join the Building Services, Professional and Technical team and help deliver high-quality teaching in construction.

Qualifications

• A minimum of Grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English Language.
• Experience working in a similar technician, workshop, or construction support role.
• Experience using a range of construction machinery, tools, and equipment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and setup of practical construction teaching sessions.
• Prepare materials, tools, machinery, and equipment for practical classes.
• Support students undertaking practical activities under the guidance of teaching staff.
• Maintain construction workshops and associated facilities to a high standard.
• Carry out routine checks and maintenance of construction tools and equipment.
• Ensure administrative processes are completed efficiently, including stock control and inventory management, asset registers, and statutory records and returns.
• Promote and support a safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
