Job summary

Morgan Hunt is seeking a motivated Construction Technician for our College in Northamptonshire. You will maintain workshop facilities, prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons, and provide essential technical support to staff and students, ensuring a safe, well-equipped learning environment.

You will join the Building Services, Professional and Technical team and help deliver high-quality teaching in construction.

Qualifications

A minimum of Grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English Language.
Experience working in a similar technician, workshop, or construction support role.
Experience using a range of construction machinery, tools, and equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and setup of practical construction teaching sessions.
Prepare materials, tools, machinery, and equipment for practical classes.
Support students undertaking practical activities under the guidance of teaching staff.
Maintain construction workshops and associated facilities to a high standard.
Carry out routine checks and maintenance of construction tools and equipment.
Ensure administrative processes are completed efficiently, including stock control and inventory management, asset registers, and statutory records and returns.
Promote and support a safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
