Job summary

McLaughlin & Harvey is seeking a Site Engineer to drive success on high-value projects across health, education, and commercial sectors. You will ensure compliance with SHEQ, induct personnel, and manage RAMS while coordinating direct labour and subcontractors.

The role requires a degree or equivalent, solid experience in large-scale contracts, and proficiency with Fieldview/4P Viewpoint. Hybrid/work flexibility is offered on a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Degree, HND or equivalent qualification required.
• Proven experience in large-scale contract setting out.
• A valid driving licence and construction-site safety training (SMSTS).
• Experience on large projects and concrete structures (slipform/jumpform).
• First aid training is desirable.
• Experience with Fieldview and 4P Viewpoint software.
• Strong IT skills and ability to work with project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all site activities comply with SHEQ policies and procedures.
• Induct site personnel and ensure RAMS are in place for all activities.
• Supervise and coordinate direct site labour and subcontractors.
• Manage sub-contract packages and coordinate with project team.
• Provide technical support to production teams and produce RAMS.
• Maintain inspection records, ITPs, NCRs and non-conformance logs.
• Ensure accurate setting out within specified tolerances and update drawings/specs.
• Monitor project programme and develop short-term look-ahead plans with supply chain.
• Lead subcontractor progress meetings and report progress regularly.
• Communicate risks to Project Manager/Commercial Manager and keep records.
