Job summary

International Law Firm is seeking a Conflicts Analyst to review and clear medium-complexity conflict checks and own matters from initial review to matter opening.

You will escalate when needed, work with the Client Terms team on engagement terms, and identify potential sanctions issues to the Financial Crime team, ensuring compliance without slowing the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (law preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on conflicts and confidential-information experience.
• Working knowledge of Elite/3E and Intapp Open (or similar systems).
• Ability to analyse medium-to-high complexity legal/regulatory issues and provide clear guidance.

Responsibilities

• Review and clear medium-complexity conflict checks, assessing issues across the firm’s network.
• Own conflict checks end-to-end from initial review through to matter record creation.
• Escalate clearly to Team Leaders and the Senior Conflicts Manager when needed.
• Collaborate with Client Terms team on engagement terms and bespoke conflict provisions.
• Identify potential sanctions issues and escalate to Financial Crime.
• Utilise global conflicts and new-matter systems to review and analyse data.
• Lead discussions with lawyers and partners to resolve conflicts in complex matters.
• Keep internal conflict flags accurate and current.
• Support daily workflow in line with SLAs and assist higher-volume work when required.
• Contribute to department projects and other duties as needed.

Our client is a major international law firm with a sophisticated Risk & Compliance function. Risk management and regulatory compliance sit at the heart of how they operate. The Conflicts team protects the firm and its clients by managing conflicts of interest, confidentiality and related compliance issues across a complex global network.

They are looking for a Conflicts Analyst to review and clear medium-complexity conflict checks, own matters from first review through to matter opening, and help the business stay compliant without slowing it down.

What you’ll do

• Review and clear medium-complexity conflict checks, assessing legal, commercial and confidentiality issues across the firm’s network and in line with global strategy and conflicts policies.
• Own conflict checks end-to-end — from initial review through to matter record creation.
• Escalate clearly and concisely to Team Leaders and the Senior Conflicts Manager when needed.
• Work with the Client Terms team on engagement terms, including the commercial and strategic impact of bespoke conflict provisions.
• Identify potential sanctions issues and escalateto the Financial Crime team.
• Use the firm’s global conflicts and new-matter systems (and other internal/external tools) to review and analyse data.
• Lead discussions with lawyers and partners on legal, commercial or confidential-information conflicts — including complex, multi-party matters where views may differ — and help find workable resolutions.
• Keep internal conflict flags accurate and current.
• Help keep daily workflow moving in line with SLAs; support lower-complexity, higher-volume work when required.
• Contribute to department projects and other duties as needed; support Team Leaders, Managers and Global Heads.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree (law preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on conflicts and confidential-information experience, ideally in an international law firm
• Working knowledge of Elite/3E and Intapp Open (or similar systems).
• Strong working knowledge of SRA Standards and Regulations, Law Society of Scotland Rules, Law Society of Ireland Code of Conduct and DIFC requirements, with the confidence to give practical guidance on conflicts.
• Ability to analyse medium-to-high complexity legal/regulatory issues and produce clear, reasoned advice.
