Job summary

Rolls-Royce Bristol is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and deliver composite preforming processes for the latest fan system, focusing on trimming and assembly of dry 3D woven fibre preforms.

You will work in the Composite Technology Facility, collaborating with Design, Operations and Quality to drive process maturity, implement PFMEAs and TI documentation, and push toward zero defects while complying with aerospace quality systems.

Qualifications

Engineering or relevant discipline degree, HND or HNC with manufacturing engineering experience.
Experience handling and processing of dry (3D woven) fibres.
Understanding TRLs and driving processes to maturity.
Experience with aerospace management systems and process controls.
Knowledge of statistical process control (Ppk and Cpk).

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver composite preforming processes including trimming and assembly of dry fibre preforms for the latest fan system.
Ensure the preforming process techniques meet customer requirements for Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Lead time.
Develop the Technical Package (Equipment Specification, TI’s, PFMEAs, Tooling, Equipment and HSE documentation).
Identify opportunities for new or improved processes using statistical process control to meet current or future requirements.
Drive the composite process to Zero Defects through cost and quality waterfalls, owning the technology plan and strategy towards industrialising the fan system.
