Job summary

Veritas Education is recruiting an experienced Complex Needs SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Hounslow. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex needs, both inside and outside the classroom, helping them access personalised learning and reach their potential.

The role requires calm, adaptability and a resilient approach, with experience in SEN settings and a DBS clearance. This is a full-time, term-time only position starting ASAP.

Qualifications

• Strong and recent experience supporting children with complex needs.
• Experience in SEN schools or specialist provisions.
• Valid Child and Adult DBS.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex needs.
• Support pupils inside and outside the classroom.
• Build positive relationships and support wellbeing and engagement.
• Support with communication, cognition, physical development, sensory needs and emotional wellbeing.
• Assist with personalised learning programmes and pupil targets.
• Use sensory, communication and therapeutic strategies to support learning.
• Support pupils with EHCP, care, behaviour and support plans.
• Monitor pupil progress and wellbeing.
