Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant in Leicester. You will support pupils with complex and additional needs, working closely with teachers to enable access to learning and development of communication, independence and confidence.

This role focuses on 1:1 and small-group support, with a patient, calm and resilient approach to each pupil's individual needs. A dedicated consultant will provide ongoing placement support and guidance.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children with SEN or complex needs is essential.
• Be patient, caring and compassionate.
• Be confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis.
• Have a calm and resilient approach.
• Understand that every child has different needs and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Supporting pupils with complex and additional needs
• Helping children access learning and classroom activities
• Supporting communication and social development
• Assisting with emotional regulation and sensory needs
• Encouraging independence and life skills
• Following individual learning and support plans
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Creating a calm, safe and nurturing environment
• Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals
