Job summary

GUARDIAN SELECTION LIMITED is recruiting a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant in South East London (Southwark). The role is full-time/long-term/term-time through GSL Education agency, supporting students with severe and complex SEN, including non-verbal pupils requiring personal care and behavioural support.

You will work with students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to help access learning, develop communication skills, and participate in daily activities, in a specialist setting with teachers

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Experience supporting students with severe and complex needs.
• Comfort with non-verbal students and varied communication methods.
• Willingness to provide personal care.
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach.

Responsibilities

• Support students with severe and complex SEN on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
• Assist with communication, daily activities and learning access.
• Support students with challenging behaviours and personal care needs.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals.
