Job summary

Remedy Education is hiring a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant in Lewisham to support children with profound needs in a specialist school. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, adapt learning approaches, and work with therapists and SEN professionals to implement individual plans.

The role focuses on aiding communication, mobility, personal care, and ensuring safeguarding and health procedures are followed.

Qualifications

Patient and compassionate, with dedication to supporting children with complex needs.
Calm, reassuring in challenging situations, and adaptable in communication.
Reliable, observant and able to follow detailed care and support plans.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to children with complex needs.
Help children access classroom activities through personalised learning approaches.
Support communication and interaction, including AAC where appropriate.
Assist with mobility and physical support per individual plans and procedures.
Support personal care needs following safeguarding and health procedures.
Help children develop independence with daily routines.
Collaborate with teachers, SEN professionals and therapists to implement support plans.
Recognise individual milestones and progress at the child’s own pace.
