Job summary

Supply Heroes are recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Sparkhill, Birmingham (B11). This full-time, long-term role starts ASAP and offers the chance to support children with diverse needs.

The ideal candidate will have prior SEND experience, be patient and reliable, and hold an enhanced DBS (or be willing to obtain one). DBS check is required to safeguard pupils.

Qualifications

• Previous SEND experience preferred.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional references.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND.
• Support pupils with additional needs (ASD, ADHD, speech and language, learning difficulties).
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Support pupils' emotional wellbeing, confidence and independence.
• Monitor progress and feedback to teaching staff.
• Support EHCP targets and individual strategies.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
