Supply Heroes Ltd on behalf of a Birmingham primary school is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming, supportive team. This full-time, long-term role offers 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND, including ASD, ADHD and speech and language needs.

You will assist the class teacher, help deliver engaging lessons and support pupils’ emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and social development.

Qualifications

  • Previous SEND experience preferred.
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willing to obtain).
  • Two satisfactory professional references.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Supporting children with needs such as ASD, ADHD and speech and language difficulties.

Supply Heroes are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive Primary School in Birmingham, B19, rated Good by Ofsted.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school on a full-time, long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a nurturing and inclusive school community that is committed to supporting pupils with additional needs.

The Role
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Supporting children with needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and learning needs.
  • Assisting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing, confidence and social development.
  • Implementing individual education plans and EHCP targets.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENDCOs and support staff.
  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to the wider school team.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Has previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant or Teaching Assistant.
  • Has experience supporting children with additional needs.
  • Is patient, caring and resilient.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Is confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Has strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Is proactive and able to use their own initiative.
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
