Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in South Birmingham. This full-time, five-day-per-week role supports pupils with additional needs to access the curriculum.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO, building strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents, providing one-to-one and small-group support, and helping pupils reach their potential.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
  • A caring, patient and nurturing approach.
  • Good understanding of SEND and inclusive classroom practices.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Help manage behaviour positively and consistently in line with school policies.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and parents where required.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to help them achieve their full potential.

Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding long-term role?

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in South Birmingham. This is a full-time, 5-day-per-week position, providing support to pupils with additional needs and helping them thrive both academically and socially.

The Role:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
