Job summary

Direct Payment Employer is seeking a patient and reliable male Personal Assistant to support a 40-year-old man in and around the Lampeter area. The role involves companionship, social interaction, helping with independent living, shopping, and attending community activities.

Full duties include promoting independence, ensuring safety, supporting appointments, and safeguarding. A DBS check is required; driving licence and car use may be needed for travel.

Qualifications

• Caring, patient and friendly.
• Responsible, reliable and honest.
• Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative.
• Has good local knowledge of the area where the employer lives.
• Good time-keeping and flexibility around working patterns and duties as determined by the employer’s requirements.
• Ability to keep simple records such as time recording.
• Good communicator able to talk to people on behalf of the employer when required.
• Able to develop long-term supportive and consistent relationships with employers.
• A full, clean driving licence and use of a car is likely to be required.
• BUSINESS INS REQUIRD
• This is determined by the needs of the employer and whether you live within walking distance.
• You must be prepared to have business use on your vehicle insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours
• Be prepared to undergo training in order to best meet the employers need.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the employer with encouragement in gaining independence
• Enabling the employer to interact socially in their community
• Providing support to the employer whilst shopping and attending activities of interest
• Supporting the employer to develop independent living skills
• To provide companionship in the employer’s home, including engaging in conversation with the employer and providing them with social interaction
• Encouraging the employer to attend appointments
• Ensuring the employer’s safety at all times during your working hours
• To carry out any other reasonable tasks that are requested by the employer during your working hours
• To ensure compliance with Data Protection Act.
