Job summary

Direct Payment Employer is seeking a Personal Assistant to support a client in Whitland in accessing the community and taking part in activities that promote wellbeing. The role is 5 hours per week across 2 visits, with duties including encouraging independence, facilitating social interaction, assisting with shopping and activities of interest, and promoting safety and well-being at all times.

Responsibilities include companionship, attending appointments, safeguarding, and reporting concerns

Responsibilities

• Supporting the employer with encouragement in gaining independence
• Enabling the employer to interact socially in their community
• Providing support to the employer whilst shopping and attending activities of interest
• Supporting the employer to develop independent living skills
• Providing companionship in the employer’s home and engaging in conversation
• Encouraging the employer to attend appointments
• Ensuring the employer’s safety during working hours
• Carrying out other reasonable tasks as requested during working hours
• Ensuring compliance with Data Protection Act
• Be mindful of safeguarding issues and report concerns to the local authority as needed
• Contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority should medical assistance be required
