Direct Payment Employer in Wales seeks a compassionate care assistant to support the employer at home. You will encourage independence, provide companionship, and help with daily tasks that are now harder, while enabling him to continue participating in activities he enjoys.

Duties include accompanying him to appointments, helping with shopping, meal planning, and record-keeping. A full driving licence and use of a car are likely required, depending on location.

• Supporting the employer with encouragement in gaining independence.

• Providing support to the employer whilst shopping and attending activities of interest.
• Supporting the employer to develop independent living skills.
• Providing companionship in the employer's home and social interaction.
• Encouraging the employer to attend appointments.
• Ensuring the employer's safety at all times during working hours.
• Carrying out any other reasonable tasks as requested during working hours.
• Ensure compliance with Data Protection Act.
• Be mindful of safeguarding issues and report concerns to the relevant authority.
• Be responsible for contacting GP, Social Worker or Local Authority for medical assistance.
