Job summary

OurCoop is seeking a compassionate funeral care team member to support families during bereavement. You will be the first point of contact at scene, handling care and preparation of the deceased with dignity and respect.

The role includes washing/dressing the deceased, presenting them for viewing, and coordinating transfers within Society vehicles. It requires a full UK manual driving licence and willingness to work a night schedule with standby/on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Compassion, empathy and professional service mindset.
• Physical ability to lift and transfer the deceased.
• Full UK manual driving licence and readiness for on‑call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Care for the deceased including washing and dressing with dignity and respect.
• Prepare and present the deceased for viewing.
• Be the first point of contact for families during bereavement.
• Work nights from 7:54pm to 8:00am (4 nights on/off) with unsocial-hours payments.
• Assist with transfer within Society vehicles and standby/on‑call duties.
