Job summary

HC-One is seeking a Kitchen Assistant on a bank contract to deliver high-quality care through food. You will assist with meal preparation, serving meals with warmth, and maintaining kitchen hygiene to support residents' wellbeing.

We value kitchen experience and a real passion for helping others. You may hold an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or be willing to work toward it, with safeguarding training and opportunities for development within HC-One.

Qualifications

• Kitchen experience or willingness to work towards NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under the direction of the Chef or Cook (kitchen duties).
• Serve meals with warmth and respect in a timely manner.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene of equipment and surfaces.
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures.
• Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
• Show new team members how to safely use kitchen equipment.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless, even after busy periods.
