Job summary

Central England Co-operative Limited seeks a dedicated Funeral Care Assistant to support families at bereavement scenes and ensure dignified preparation of the deceased.

You will build compassionate relationships with families, handle preparation tasks including washing and dressing, and work a long day shift pattern from 8:00 to 20:06 over a 4-on, 4-off cycle, with DBS checks for new joiners.

Qualifications

• DBS check required for new joiners from 1 December 2023.
• Physical ability to lift and transfer the deceased.
• Full UK Manual driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Attend scene of bereavement and be first contact for families.
• Prepare and present the deceased with dignity, including washing and dressing.
• Work a long day shift pattern from 8.00am to 8.06pm (4 days on, 4 days off).
• Assist with transfers within Society vehicles and on-call duties as needed.
• Support colleagues as part of a caring, professional funeral team.
