Job summary

The Crematorium and Memorial Group seeks a Crematorium Assistant at Craigton Crematorium to support chapel services, maintain grounds, and handle administrative duties. This on-site role is full-time and offers a structured environment with compassionate family support.

You'll work across crematorium operations, assist with memorial enquiries, manage bookings, and ensure safety standards are met, contributing to dignified services for bereaved families.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles preferred.
• Able to perform physical tasks and grounds maintenance.
• Comfortable using basic IT systems for bookings.

Responsibilities

• Support chapel services by setting up seating and AV equipment and greeting families.
• Assist with witness interments or ashes scatterings with sensitivity.
• Maintain the crematorium grounds and memorial areas.
• Assist families with memorial enquiries.
• Manage service bookings, record-keeping, and invoicing.
• Respond to telephone and email enquiries professionally.
• Follow health and safety regulations and PPE usage.
