Job summary

Westerleigh Group's new crematorium (AUM Crematorium) is recruiting Crematorium Assistants to join the team. This 40-hour week role requires flexibility across 5 days, including weekends and varied shifts. Training is provided and you will be part of a caring team serving families with dignity.

You will assist in the cremation process, support different funeral traditions, prepare chapels and handle administrative tasks with Word/Excel. Benefits include bonus potential, holiday, pension, and PPE.

Qualifications

• Bereavement or funeral industry experience is beneficial but not required.
• Retail, hospitality, care or customer service backgrounds suitable.
• Emotionally resilient and well-organised with attention to detail.
• Must be physically able; manual handling; PPE provided.

Responsibilities

• Involved in end-to-end cremation process and ashes management.
• Support diverse funeral traditions with respect for practices.
• Chapel preparation, welcome families and direct seating; manage tributes.
• Answer calls and assist families using Word/Excel; support queries.
• Ad hoc duties including basic site maintenance; team-focused support.
