Job summary

Southern Housing is seeking a Care & Support Worker to join our team, delivering person-centred care across our supported housing schemes and community settings. This full-time role is 35 hours per week, with evenings and weekends required, including potential sleep-in duties and on-call duties.

You will work with residents including older adults and individuals with learning disabilities, promoting dignity, independence and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Caring and empathetic approach with ability to build positive, trusting relationships.
• Deliver care and support in line with individual care plans, promoting independence, choice and inclusion.
• Understanding safeguarding responsibilities, with confidence following procedures and reporting concerns.
• Remain calm and professional in emergencies and challenging situations.
• Commitment to equality, dignity and anti-discriminatory practice.
• Physical ability to undertake moving and handling tasks.
• Basic IT skills to maintain accurate records and reports.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, sleep in duties and on call rotas.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
