Job summary

Hill Care Group is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the cook with meal preparation, cooking and serving for residents in our care home. You will help deliver freshly prepared meals while accommodating special dietary needs such as soft diets and diabetic options.

We value reliability, compassion and teamwork. Full training will be provided, with opportunities to develop food hygiene practice and contribute to a safe, homely dining environment for all residents.

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is required.
• Good communication skills are required.
• Must be a team player with reliability.
• Satisfactory Police Check and POVA List review where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
• Attend staff and client meetings as required.
• Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.
• Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as required.
• Wash up and ensure kitchen and dining areas meet health and safety standards.
• Report illnesses or accidents to the Home Manager and follow safety policies.
