Job summary

HC-One is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for a part-time role at Crofton Springs. You'll help deliver high-quality care through food, assist with meal prep, serve meals with warmth, and maintain kitchen hygiene in our dementia and care home.

We welcome applicants with kitchen experience and a willingness to work towards an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation. This role emphasizes kindness, safeguarding awareness, and opportunities for training and development.

Qualifications

• Some kitchen experience and a real passion for helping others.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow recipes and record information accurately.
• Safeguarding awareness and training as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under the direction of the Chef or Cook.
• Serve meals with warmth and respect in a timely and friendly manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including equipment and surfaces.
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures and stock rotation.
• Show new team members how to safely use kitchen equipment.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless after busy periods.
