Job summary

Hill Care is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support meal preparation, cooking and serving for residents. You will help ensure meals meet high standards and accommodate dietary needs, while maintaining cleanliness and safety in the kitchen and dining areas.

We value reliability, compassion and teamwork; prior care environment experience is a plus. Training will be provided to help you develop Food Safety Level 2 or progression towards it is welcomed.

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is required
• Good communication skills are required
• Team player
• Satisfactory Police Check and check against the POVA List (where applicable)
• Experience of food preparation for the relevant Client group is desirable

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
• Participate in Staff and Client meetings as required.
• Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.
• Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as needed.
• Wash up after meals; keep kitchen and dining areas clean and tidy.
• Ensure Health and Safety standards in kitchen and dining areas.
• Report illnesses or accidents to Home Manager or Person in Charge.
• Follow Care Centre’s Health and Safety policy and emergency procedures.
• Report faulty appliances or hazards to Home Manager or Handyperson.
• Promote safe working practices in the Care Centre.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures within timescales
• Carry out any other tasks reasonably assigned
