Job summary

Hill Care Group is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the cook in preparing, cooking and serving meals for residents, including those on special diets. The role emphasizes hygiene, safety and compassionate care in a residential setting.

You’ll join a team focused on high-quality meals, training, and professional development with duties ranging from food prep to meal service and kitchen upkeep.

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate required.
• Team player with collaborative approach.
• Satisfactory Police Check and POVA List check where applicable.
• Experience of food preparation for residents in a care setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
• Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site.
• Wash up after meals and ensure crockery/equipment are cleaned and stored.
• Maintain Health and Safety standards in kitchen and dining areas.
• Report illnesses or accidents to the Home Manager or Person in Charge.
