Job summary

Guardian Homecare is seeking a Community Support Worker to help clients live independently at home, following individual care plans with compassion and respect. You’ll assist with daily activities, meals, mobility support and companionship, visiting multiple local homes across the Basildon area.

No prior professional care experience is required; training and ongoing support will build your care skills. A driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for travelling between client visits,

Responsibilities

• This is a domiciliary care role, visiting people in their own homes and following individual care plans.
• Personal care is an important part of the role, alongside companionship, practical help and support with independence.
• Help someone start and finish their day comfortably, with washing, dressing, grooming and continence care.
• Encourage independence and safe movement, assisting with walking and mobility aids.
• Prepare meals, snacks and drinks reflecting preferences and dietary needs.
• Support with medication, reminders and administration where authorised.
• Keep the home environment as familiar as possible and help with light chores.
• Provide companionship, listen, share conversations and support agreed activities and visits.
• Observe wellbeing, report concerns, and maintain accurate records of care and changes.
• Communicate with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals and follow safeguarding procedures.
