Job summary

Ayrshire Independent Living Network (AILN) is seeking a part-time Support Worker in Galston to assist a young man with Down syndrome in the community. You will help him enjoy activities and develop independence while promoting wellbeing.

Role requires a full driving licence and comfort driving a mobility vehicle as transport is integral. PVG Disclosure Scotland and two references are needed; six-month probation applies.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence required.
• Experience supporting individuals with epilepsy or challenging behaviour is beneficial.
• Willingness to learn; training and guidance provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide community support to a young man with Down syndrome in activities and everyday life.
• Accompany him to swimming, social clubs, walks, meals, and other community opportunities.
• Promote independence, confidence and wellbeing through person-centred support.
• Build a trusting relationship and ensure safe participation in activities.
