Job summary

Ayrshire Independent Living Network in Galston is seeking a caring Support Worker to help a young adult with Down syndrome participate in community activities and build independence. You will accompany him to swimming, social clubs, walks, meals and other opportunities based on his interests.

The role requires a full driving licence to drive a mobility vehicle, a PVG check, two references (one from the most recent employer) and a six-month probation.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence and confidence driving mobility vehicle.
• Experience with epilepsy or challenging behaviour would be beneficial.
• PVG Disclosure Scotland process required; two references, one from most recent employer.

Responsibilities

• Accompany the young adult to activities such as swimming, social clubs, short walks, meals and other community opportunities.
• Provide person-centred support to enable participation in everyday life in a safe and enjoyable way.
