Job summary

Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) is recruiting four 1.0 wte Speech and Language Therapists to provide specialist SLT support within the Experts at Hand service through advice, consultation, modelling of strategies, training, and targeted intervention. We are also able to consider part time applications above 18.75 hours per week.

Base locations will be Exeter, North or South Devon, and you will work in a multidisciplinary team to support children, young people, families and professionals

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people with speech, language and communication needs in community/education settings.
• Knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools for children.
• Knowledge of a broad range of therapeutic interventions for children.
• Understanding of clinical governance and audit.
• Understanding of roles of other professionals in child services.
• Knowledge of records keeping standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist SLT support within community settings and schools.
• Provide training and professional development for staff and families.
• Offer time-limited direct interventions where indicated.
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams across Devon and Torbay.
