Job description
Community Specialist Rehabilitation Dietitian

We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Specialist Rehabilitation Dietitian to join our dedicated team, delivering expert nutritional care in the community. In this role, you will provide highly specialist dietetic assessment, advice, and counselling to a complex caseload, working closely with the Community Dietetic Team and Dudley Rehabilitation Service (DRS). You will manage your own caseload, supporting patients with a range of nutritional needs including malnutrition, enteral feeding, and chronic disease, through health centre appointments and domiciliary visits to housebound patients and care homes. We are looking for a motivated professional with advanced clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes.

Main duties of the job

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver specialist dietetic advice for individuals with neurological conditions and provide cover within the adult community dietetic caseload.
  • Manage patients requiring both enteral and oral nutritional support, ensuring tailored, evidence‑based care.
  • Work as an integral member of multidisciplinary teams, contributing expertise, sharing new developments, and supporting collaborative decision‑making.
  • Provide specialist dietetic assessments and treatments in health centres, patients’ homes, and care homes, ensuring a flexible, prioritised service based on clinical need.
  • Take responsibility for your own specialist caseload, supporting patients who are malnourished or enterally fed as part of their rehabilitation journey.
  • Act as an expert resource, promoting best practice and delivering consistently high standards of care across Dudley.
