Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council in Brough is hiring a Customer Advisor to work across Customer Services and Libraries at the East Riding Petuaria Centre. The role focuses on delivering a high quality customer service, assisting residents with enquiries, and promoting the library and information facilities.

The post involves supporting children’s activities and adult groups, plus weekly Bounce and Rhyme sessions for under-5s.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with the public and answering telephone enquiries.
• Excellent customer care and organisational skills.
• Ability to deal with difficult situations effectively and stay calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and enthusiastic approach to delivering good customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high quality customer transaction, enquiry and information service to local residents.
• Engage with customers and local partners to develop and promote the service, including self-service information facilities.
• Support activities within the centre such as children's activity sessions and Adult groups.
• Run Bounce and Rhyme Sessions weekly for children under 5 with music and interaction.
• Assist with moving stock, restocking displays and handling library materials as required.
