Job summary

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Facilities Supervisor to oversee day-to-day non-clinical services across several community hospitals, including at least one inpatient site. You will ensure cleaning, catering, laundry, equipment, and minor maintenance are delivered to NHS standards, with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising facilities services in NHS or similar healthcare settings.
• Knowledge of NHS cleanliness standards and CQC outcomes.
• Experience overseeing food service operations including ordering, stock control, and dietary requirements.
• Awareness of Health & Safety policies and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day facilities services across 4–5 community hospitals (including at least 1 inpatient site).
• Ensure non-clinical services are delivered seamlessly (cleaning, catering, laundry, patient equipment, minor maintenance).
• Monitor quality standards, report deficiencies and take corrective action.
• Oversee patient meal service, food ordering, stock rotation, and HACCP checks.
• Coordinate staff cover across sites and liaise with line managers.
• Maintain infection control practices and health & safety culture.
