Job summary

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated cleaner to join the Facilities Services Team. You will perform general environmental cleaning on wards, including toilets, bathrooms, showers and patient equipment, while upholding NHS cleanliness standards and infection control policies.

The role supports patient care on site, with duties covering waste management, replenishment of supplies, and assistance with meal service as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare cleaning preferred.
• Ability to follow infection control policies.
• Respect patient privacy and dignity at all times.

Responsibilities

• Perform general environmental cleaning on wards including toilets, bathrooms, showers and sluice rooms.
• Ensure replenishment of hand hygiene supplies and PPE as needed.
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness to NHS standards (PAS 5748).
• Carry out laundry duties and waste handling in line with policy.
• Assist with meal service and HACCP-based food safety checks.
