Job summary

Connect to Work, a UK government-funded initiative, seeks an Employment Specialist to manage a caseload of up to 25 service users, delivering person-centred support and individualised workplans. You will engage with employers to create sustainable employment opportunities and help participants access tailored guidance and signposting across Oxfordshire.

Role focuses on one-to-one coaching, employer engagement, and ongoing in-work support.

Qualifications

• Passion for helping people with a solution-focused approach.
• Experience supporting people facing barriers to employment.
• Experience providing one-to-one coaching with constructive challenge.
• Proven ability to build networks and partnerships to support customers' goals.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.
• Strong organisational skills with caseload management.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, data protection and confidentiality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Champion customers by promoting them to employers and raising awareness of available support.
• Create and follow individualised action plans for each customer.
• Conduct regular check-ins with customers to track progress pre- and post-employment.
• Advocate for inclusive recruitment and partner with employers.
• Develop potential employment opportunities through proactive employer engagement.
• Facilitate work experiences such as placements, trials, or shadowing with suitable employers.
• Provide ongoing In-Work Support to sustain customer employment in collaboration with employers.
• Address personal constraints to employment and build customer skills for recruitment processes.
• Identify and recommend vacancy and training solutions in consultation with the team.
• Maintain customer records to high quality standards documenting the journey.
• Develop knowledge of local signposting services (disabilities, housing, benefits, etc).
• Meet performance targets and quality/compliance measures.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Oxfordshire and partners for a joined-up approach.
