Job summary

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Community Staff Nurse for the District Nursing Service, based at Hadrian Health Centre in North Tyneside. You will provide patient-centred care to people in their homes, residential settings and clinics, with development opportunities within the District Nursing Service.

Successful applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• The development and delivery of programmes of health and social care.
• The provision of care and support to patients with a terminal illness and their families.
• The performance of skilled nursing care including wound management, palliatve care and catheterisation.
• Performance of diagnostic tests such as Ankle Brachial Pressure Index using Doppler and interpretation of results.
• Performance of procedures requiring dexterity such as venepuncture, injections and suture removal.
• Explain aspects of care to patients and carers and address questions and concerns.
• Maintain high standards of professional practice and accountability.
